CAPE VERDE

Projeto Arte "Art"

To the rhythm of Cesária Évora’s mornas and my own musical roots, I present the Projeto Arte "Art". This project focuses on culture, music, painting, and all forms of Art. I will talk with the locals, understand them, and later share with everyone the impact of Art on their lives. A Spotify playlist will be created, The Playlist of a PALOPiano, featuring the favorite songs of each person I’ve had a conversation with.

Arriving in Cape Verde

From Lisbon, it is possible to fly directly to four islands: São Vicente, Sal, Boa Vista, and Praia. From Porto and Ponta Delgada, there are direct flights to only one island each: Sal and Praia, respectively.

The Google Flights is the search tool I regularly use to check ticket prices, purchasing them directly on the airlines' websites. With the FlightConnections, you can see all direct flights to the airport you want to fly to.

  • Other Schengen Area countries with direct flights to Cape Verde: Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Sustainable Tips

If you’re traveling to a country without potable water, you don’t need to keep relying on plastic bottles. There are bottles with filters that eliminate 99.99% of bacteria, viruses, and heavy metals: you save money and avoid waste. More Tips? Wash your clothes in an eco-friendly way during your trip and choose hemp backpacks, a durable and environmentally friendly material.

When traveling between islands, prioritize taking the ferry — it’s an experience and a more sustainable option. You can buy tickets and check schedules on the CV Interilhas. Be sustainable and believe: small choices make a big difference.

Did You Know That...

…my father knows someone in São Vicente who was born on January 1st and is named “Ano Novo” (New Year)?

…it is considered the third most democratic country in Africa?

…during a football match where the home team was winning 3–0, the game was canceled because the other team had turned the score around, and the referee considered that impossible?
