However, the information shared here generally applies to the consulates spread across Portuguese territory. If you are not a Portuguese citizen, please contact the respective embassies located in your country.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4865650 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4865650\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Guine-Bissau\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 2.125rem; font-style: inherit;\">Guinea-Bissau<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;\">If you\u2019re planning to visit Guinea-Bissau, you\u2019ll need to get a visa. To obtain it, you need to go to the nearest embassy or consulate. In my case, since I live in Lisbon, I went to the embassy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;\">The process can be somewhat time-consuming: it requires an initial visit to make the payment and leave your passport for 8 days while the visa is issued. font-style: inherit; font-size: 2.125rem;\">Cape Verde<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif\">If you plan to stay less than one month in Cape Verde, you don\u2019t need a visa. You just have to complete the traveler pre-registration on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ease.gov.cv\/\" target=\"_blank\"><u>EASE website<\/u><\/a> and pay the Airport Security Tax (TSA). To avoid queues and delays, you can (and should) do this online up to 5 days before your trip. However, if you plan to stay more than one month (as will be my case), you need to get a visa. You can do this online or in person. In both cases, I recommend installing the <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=pt.opensoft.biocid&amp;hl=pt-PT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Consular Portal app<\/u><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: normal; color: #163624;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400; color: #404040;\">If you choose to go to the embassy in person, through the app you have to register, select \u201cvisa,\u201d specify the type of visa, and choose a time to make an appointment. Then, when you arrive at the embassy, you can go straight to the counter (you don\u2019t need to wait in line).&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: normal; color: #163624;\" class=\"translation-block\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;color: #404040;font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif\">\nNever go to the embassy without an appointment. I made that mistake: I took a ticket, waited an hour, and ended up giving up. If you make an appointment, you will be attended at the scheduled time or even earlier.
